This one wasn't bad, it just wasn't good either. The conflict was lacking in conflict, there was almost no action or tension in the story at all, in fact. Too much inner monologue and not enough of anything happening. Also, Will was supposed to be a terrible rake "the worst rake in London" or whatever but he doesn't ever come off as even mildly bad, and all his behavior seems pretty much on par with the expected actions of a wealthy well bred bachelor of the time. Nothing makes his excesses seem all that excessive. Certainly nothing that would deserve more censure than a fair portion of other men at that level of society. And it was slow slow
slooooow.
